Land Nav
Muster Tickets

TFVooDoo hosts events every month. If you don’t see available dates, then the event is not yet scheduled. Our goal is to post available events a month prior to execution. We understand that many people want to schedule around other obligations and require significant lead time. We post the events as soon as the dates are confirmed. We have operational realities to deconflict as well.

Follow us on Instagram or check back here regularly to get the most current events.

FOR THE NIGHT MUSTER YOU MUST BRING A RED LENS LIGHT AND A FUNCTIONAL COMPASS. THIS MEANS THAT YOU CAN READ YOUR COMPASS AT NIGHT, IN THE DARK, UNDER ALL CONDITIONS. IF YOU BRING A CRAPPY KNOCK-OFF DISCOUNT COMPASS THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO TRAIN WITH A CRAPPY KNOCK-OFF DISCOUNT COMPASS AND THE QUALITY OF YOUR TRAINING WILL SUFFER!

Day Muster and Night Muster are separate events and require separate tickets.

BE PREPARED TO SHOW YOUR ORDER CONFIRMATION, INCLUDING ORDER NUMBER AT EVENT CHECK-IN.

DUSK TO DAWN: RED LIGHT HYBRID SERIES - MAY 23/24 2026
$375.00

DUSK TO DAWN: RED LIGHT HYBRID SERIES

New for summer 2026.

The Dusk to Dawn: Red Light Hybrid Series replaces the separate day and night events for May through August.

One ticket. One continuous evolution. Day land nav into the night phase — no break, no reset, no going home in between. The training begins in the late afternoon of the 23rd and finishes in the morning of the 24th.

This is the event for candidates who want to know what it actually feels like to navigate when they are tired, it is dark, and the only light they have is red.

If you've been watching TF VooDoo events and trying to decide between the Day Muster and the Red Light Night Muster - that decision just got easier.

This summer, we're running the Dusk to Dawn: Red Light Hybrid Series. One continuous evolution that covers both. You show up in the afternoon for the day land nav course, run the full day phase, transition into the night phase under red light, and release at dawn.

Here's why this matters for your SFAS prep:
Navigating at night is a different skill than navigating in daylight - and the gap gets wider when you're already tired.

The transition from day to night is where most candidates lose their confidence and their efficiency. This event simulates that transition in a controlled, instructed environment before the cadre put you in it for real.

What you need to bring:

  • functional compass (not a knockoff)

  • red lens light

  • protractor

  • water and food for 12-14 hours

  • appropriate field clothing.

What you need to know coming in:

MGRS plotting and compass azimuths. If you can't do those, get Never Get Lost and leam them first.

Dates are posted monthly .  Slots are limited.

Hybrid Series FAQs

Q: What is the Dusk to Dawn: Red Light Hybrid Series?
The Dusk to Dawn: Red Light Hybrid Series is TF VooDoo's summer land nav event format, running May through August 2026. It combines the Day Muster and Red Light Night Muster into a single continuous evolution - one ticket, one afternoon-to-dawn event. It replaces the separate day and night events during the summer months.

Q: Do I still need separate tickets for the day and night events?
Not this summer. The Dusk to Dawn ticket covers both phases. Purchasing the Dusk to Dawn ticket is equivalent to attending both the Day Muster and the Red Light Night Muster. Separate day and night tickets are not available during the summer series months.

Q: Why are the classes smaller and sell out so quick?
We limit class size to optimize instruction and maintain night accountability. We have a limited number of safety kits, and our priority is high quality instruction, not maximizing profit. Don’t wait for the last minute to secure your ticket. We will post available classes the moment our planning requirements are met.

Q: How long is the Dusk to Dawn event?
Plan for approximately 12 to 14 hours. The event begins in the afternoon and runs through to dawn. Bring enough food and water for the full duration and dress appropriately for overnight field conditions. You can expect to walk about 10 miles total, versus the combined 15–20 miles of separate courses.

Q: Is prior land nav experience required?
You must be able to plot an MGRS grid point on a map using a protractor and shoot a compass azimuth before you arrive. These are the entry-level skills for this course. If you cannot perform them, pick up a copy of Never Get Lost and learn them before you register. You can attend without those skills, but you will spend the day behind the power curve and will limit your own training value.

Q: What equipment is required for the night phase?
A red lens light and a functional compass are mandatory for the night phase. Functional means you can read your compass in the dark, under all conditions. Knockoff and discount compasses are not acceptable—the quality of your training equipment is a direct reflection of how seriously you take your preparation. White light is not authorized during the night phase.

Q: What is the refund policy for the Dusk to Dawn ticket?
The same refund policy applies as all TF VooDoo events. Full refunds are available if you cancel more than 14 days before the event date. Cancellations inside 14 days are not refundable, and transfer to a future event is not guaranteed. A $50 transfer fee applies for transfers outside the 14-day window. If TF VooDoo cancels the event, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer at no fee.

Q: What if I already did a day event and just want to attend the night portion?
The event is continuous with no clear break between evolutions. You will get to see new routes and new parts of the map, so “doubling up” on your day instruction is a good thing.

Q: Will we cross Scuba Road?
No. This is a new route, and the water crossings (and snake encounters) are minimized. This allows you to enter directly into the night event with dry feet. You can expect to walk about 10 miles total, versus the combined 15–20 miles of separate courses.

Q: Will you hold separate traditional events anymore?
Yes, absolutely. This Hybrid Series is a summer heat mitigation measure. We had several heat injuries in summers past, so we developed an option that protects the trainee and gives us the opportunity to provide new routes for aspiring operators that wanted more terrain exposure. If you attend a hybrid event this summer and a traditional event during the rest of the year you will have been exposed to nearly the entire training area.

REFUND POLICY

We offer very limited slots for each event.
When you purchase a ticket, you reserve that slot making it unavailable to others.

As such, full refunds are available only if you cancel outside of 14 days of the event date.
You will also have the option of transferring your tuition to the next available event for a $50.00 transfer fee.

There are no refunds, and your tuition is not guaranteed transferable to future events, for cancellations inside of 14 days from the event date.

For events cancelled by TFVooDoo you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer your tuition to the next available event with no fee.

Contact us for questions and refund or transfer options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: The Night Muster requires successful completion of the day muster as a prerequisite. Can I attend both events in one day?

A: Yes. The Musters are specifically designed to allow you to complete both events in the same weekend, Attend the day Muster and then attend the Night Muster immediately after. We built it this way intentionally to allow maximum efficiency and enable out-of-town trainees to save on travel.

Q: The ticket says “Advanced Land Nav”. I’ve never done this before, can I still attend?

A: You will need to be able to plot a point on a map and plot an azimuth using the MGRS system and a protractor. If you can’t do that then get a copy of Never Get Lost and learn how. You can attend if you are unable to perform these basic skills, but you will struggle to advance to the core skills that we teach. You don’t have to be an expert, but plotting points, azimuths, and using a protractor are basic skills.

Q: Im traveling from out of town. How do I get there, where do I stay, can I get a ride, etc?

A: We provide Land Navigation training. We are not a travel service. You will need to make your own travel arrangements. Many clients in the past have used Raleigh-Durham Airport (RDU), rent a car or Uber, and stay at the Carolina Pine Inn. It is reasonably priced, secure and clean, and centrally located. WE ARE NOT SPONSORING OR ENDORSING ANY COURSE OF ACTION, we are simply advising what others in the past have done,
